JENKINS, KY – Theda Jean Fleming, 89, entered into eternity Tuesday October 29, 2024 from the UK Hospice Care Center in
Lexington, KY. Her loving family was at her side.
Theda was of the Christian faith and a member of the Dunham Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and Savior. Theda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She always enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales. Theda loved taking care of and helping raise her kids, her grandkids and
her great-grandkids. She enjoyed baking, gardening and canning. She was an avid reader and enjoyed old TV shows and also The1000 lb Sisters.
Theda was preceded in death by her parents Baxter and Martha (Rose) Bartley; her husband, Fitchue Fleming; her son Michael Fleming; her sister Gaynell "Duke" Rose; and brothers Randall Bartley, Chester Bartley and Elster Bartley
Survivors include her sons Jerry Fleming and wife Gail-Tuscaloosa, AL and Scott Fleming and wife Jennifer-Pikeville, KY; grandchildren, Zachary Fleming, Shelly Fleming-Morris and husband Phillip, Michael
Wayne Fleming and wife Missy, Brian Keith Fleming and wife Jessica, Kelly Jo Fleming- Brown and husband Mike; great grandchildren, Brady Fomby, Morgan Brown, Logan Brown, Reagan Brown, Nicholas Fleming, Aubrey Fleming, Caleb Fleming and Layton Fleming; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Thursday October 31, 2024, at the Burdine Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Frank Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of services.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday November 1, 2024at the Haven of Rest Cemetery-Mayking, KY where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church by 12 noon to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.
