JENKINS, KY – Shawn Quentin Hunsucker, 54, entered into eternity Sunday August 24, 2025, after an extended illness.

Shawn was born September 15, 1970, in Wise, VA to his parents Debbie (McCarter) and Joe Hunsucker. Shawn was a born again Christian and a member of the Jenkins Methodist Church. Shawn was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat fan. He loved everything about UK and collected autographs from several Wildcat players. He enjoyed country music, especially his life experiences with Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, Exile and several other country music stars. Shawn also enjoyed collecting coins, going to Kiwanis Club meetings and events and attending church. He met his health struggles with faith and determination. He will surely be missed by his family and friends.

Shawn is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Thelma and Ernest McCarter; his paternal grandparents Ulis and Ina (Combs) Hunsucker, his uncle Douglas McCarter; and

his uncle David Quentin Hunsucker.

Survivors include his Mom and Dad Debbie and Ralph Thomas-White Pine, TN; his father and step-mother Joe and Sharon Hunsucker-Morehead, KY; his sister Misty (Thomas) Looney and husband Robbie-Bowling Green, KY; brothers Justin Hunsucker and wife Angie-Somerset, KY and Brett Hunsucker-Richmond, KY; niece Morgan (Looney) Robinson and husband Sage, grandnephew, Rowdy-Bowling Green, KY; nephew, Landon Looney (Leah) Bowling Green, KY; aunt Brenda Mullins and husband Stoney-Dandridge, TN; cousin Eric Mullins and wife Angie-Pikeville, KY; cousin Tawnya Mullins (special thanks)-Lexington, KY; special friends Debbie King and Cindy Honeycutt; uncle Jeff Hunsucker and wife Patti-Ft. Myers, FL; nieces Celia and Carson Hunsucker-Richmond, KY; a large extended family; and a host of friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Thursday August 28, 2025, at the Jenkins Methodist Church with Reverend Larry Penix officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of services.

Graveside committal services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday August 29, 2025, at the Evergreen Cemetery on Circle Drive in Whitesburg, KY where Justin Hunsucker, Brett Hunsucker, Eric Mullins, Jordan Mullins, Jarrod Mullins, Landon Looney and Larry Nash will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Jenkins Kiwanis Club will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church by 10:00am to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.
