Richard Alan
Reeves
d. Dec 28, 2024
Pound, VA
POUND, VA - Richard Alan Reeves, 48, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with his loving family by his side on December 28, 2024.
Richard was a devoted father, brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, son-in-law, friend, and Tennessee Volunteers fan.
As a 1995 graduate of J.J. Kelly High School in Wise, VA, Richard was a returning act in the Spring Variety Show where he performed his unforgettable rendition of "Born in the USA." He worked at Mullican Flooring where many coworkers became his dear friends for life.
Richard's love for the outdoors was evident in his many hobbies, from fishing, hunting, and gardening, to playing ball with his daughters and his dear friend Steve Elkins (Pal). Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his daughters, Averie and Sydney, who were his most precious blessings. Richard's pride in his daughters was immeasurable, and they, in turn, cherished every moment with their dad.
Richard was preceded in death by his spunky and devoted mother, Janie Reeves; loving aunt, Donna Reeves; paternal grandparents, Richard and Lilyan (Tootie) Reeves; and maternal grandparents, Curtis Collins and Nellie Shook. His family is leaning on the faith that he is reunited in Heaven with them.
Richard is survived by his father, Danny (Henrietta) Reeves - Wise, VA; sisters, Chastity (Steve) Lane - Myrtle Beach, SC and Christina Renee (Calvin) Ingold - Kernersville, NC; daughters, Averie Reeves - Knoxville, TN and Sydney Reeves - Rogersville, TN; nephews, Justin (Elizabeth) Lane, Jacob Minnick, Dylan Lane, Austin Clevinger, and Logan Clevinger; one and only niece, Katie Minnick; great nephew, Brantley Lane; great nieces, Ellagrace and Paisley Lane; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and more friends than one could ever begin to imagine.
Services for Richard will be conducted on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Pound, Virginia, with Pastors Jeff Reynolds and Eric Rutherford officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. His daughters ask for any fellow Vols fans to wear their finest Tennessee Vols attire to join in the celebration of his life.
