POUND, VA -Nyal Burns Robinson, 83, passed away at Norton Community Hospital on August 28, 2025.  He has gone to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He lived his life for the Lord and encouraged all those he met.  Many times, during his sermons, he said when he passed, just look for the short, fat bald headed man jumping up and shouting while praising the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his father Jurman and mother Hazel Robinson, sisters Judy Fullerton and Faye Love, his wife Clara Lou Robinson of 58 years who he loved dearly.

He leaves behind one brother, Tennel Robinson and his wife Rochelle (Knoxville TN).  Daughter Karen Whitt and husband Duke (Pound, VA); sons Michael B. Robinson and wife Tamara (Pound, VA); Greg Robinson and wife Kristina (Troutville, VA); Brad Robinson and wife Courtney (Big Stone Gap, VA).  His grandchildren Travis Whitt and wife Victoria (Bristol, VA); Tyler Robinson and girlfriend Saydee Yates (Fall Branch, TN); Kristopher, Kayce, and Kenzlee Robinson (Troutville, VA) Anderson and Sydney Robinson (Big Stone Gap, VA).

He loved his family and church family very much. The last words he wrote to his children and grandchildren were "Go To Church". He always put others before himself.

We would like to thank the entire medical staff at Norton Community Hospital for their kindness and compassion shown during his last days. He gave them all the talk about Jesus and grew close to each one of them.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Pound Rescue Squad or Hamilton Chapel Church.

Visitation will be at Baker Funeral Home on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm, service at 7:00 pm with Greg Cyphers, Larry Dotson, and Kelly Fleming officiating.

Graveside service will be Friday, September 5, 2025, at 11:00 am, in the Powers Cemetery in Clintwood, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 am to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.
