POUND, VA – Michael Anthony Rose, 71, passed away Thursday

February 27, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center. His family was at

his bedside.

Michael was a Christian of the Baptist faith. He was a retired heavy

equipment operator with over 30 years of experience having worked

for several companies. Michael loved the outdoors, he enjoyed sitting

in his truck taking photographs of all types of animals and natural

scenery. He loved nature and all of its beauty. Michael was an avid

reader, he liked books and magazines of all types. Michael cherished

the time he spent with his family and friends. He was a central figure

in the "Big Branch Crew" who spent an uncountable amount of time

socializing and doing what friends do over the years.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents Willie Rose and Clara

Adams Anderson Rose Boggs; sisters Garnell Anderson, Lena Keith,

Cordelia Sowards and Sheila Ulmer, Maggie Balthis, Arlene Pilkenton,

Gene Hilton and Mallie Mae Rose; and brothers James Anderson,

Duran Anderson, Paul Rose, Gerald Anderson, Noah Rose, Owen

Rose, Arnold Rose, Earl Rose and Billy Rose.

Survivors include his daughters Reshonda Wampler (Kevin)-Wise,

VA, Amanda Rose-Norton, VA and Kayleigh Quigley (Clint)-Missouri;

his sons Garrett Rose (Sarah)-Pound, VA, Patrick Rose (Traci)-Pound,

VA and Jason Rose (Kayla)-Wise, VA; grandchildren Ethan Shuler, Chloe

Jessee, Jayden Pruitt, Noah Gardner, Josh Wampler, Brittany Wampler,

Tiffany (Zack) Vanover, Preston Rose, Grayson Rose, Landon Rose,

Lincoln Rose, Rylan Sheard, Jackson Sheard, C J Quigley, Ariel Quigley

and Christian Sanders; sisters Peggy Shepherd-Berea, KY, Phyllis Slone

(Emil)-Pound, VA; brothers Jeff Rose-California and Charles Anderson

(Sandy)-Pound, VA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special

friends Bobby Branham, Larry and Linda Boggs, Stacy and Tammy

Sowards, Scott Craft, David Carter and Bob Ambrose; the Big Branch

Crew; and a host of friends and loved ones.

As per Michael's wishes he will be cremated and there will be no

formal services.
