Obituary

POUND, VA – Latricia Carole Sturgill,64, entered peacefully into the gates of Heaven Saturday March 29, 2025, from her home.

Carole was an avid gardener; she loved talking to and pampering her indoor and outdoor plants and the ones that her sister would almost let die…she always had a way of bringing them back to life. She loved

weedeating, she took pride in taking care of Dewey Memorial Cemetery for years until her health failed her, she also took care of many yards throughout the area, always doing a wonderful job. Carole enjoyed taking

care of her family, she spent many hours helping her "Sistor" cook, make candy, bake cakes, freezing or canning the vegetables that they either raised or bought so they'd have food to feed the rest of the family throughout the winter. She loved when Tab took her to her doctors appointments, because she knew she could stop and get a Big Mac or two and she enjoyed anything

peanut butter. But most of all sitting on her porch, having a good cold Diet Coke and a cigarette.

Carole was preceded in death by her father, Claude Lee Sturgill, her grandparents, Ivan and Marie Boggs and Chester and Hila Sturgill; and special aunts, Iva Stidham and Elaine Boggs.

Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory is her daughter, Trish Kiser and companion Jared Leftwich; her only grandchild and light of her life, Tanner Collins; her mother, Ann Sturgill Tompkins; stepmother, Audrey Sturgill Powers and she was happy that her first great grandchild

is due in July. Her "Sistor" as they called one another, Rhonda Roberts (Donnie); brothers, John Sturgill, Stephen Stanley (Jennifer) and Lee Sturgill (Elizabeth); uncles, Ebby Boggs (Kay), Jamie Boggs (Sue) and Royce Stidham; aunts, Kaye Cantrell (Gary), special aunts, Jenni Fuller, Denita Boggs and Linda Sturgill; great uncle, John Faulker; nieces, LeAnn
