POUND, VA – Joyce Faye (Powers) Stallard, 85, entered peacefully into eternity Wednesday February 25, 2026 after a long illness. Her loving family was at her bedside.

Joyce was a Christian and a lifelong member of the Pound Church of Christ. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Joyce and her husband Roy

worked tirelessly for years at Roy's Market in Pound. They were staples of the community, both were well established and highly relied upon by local residents. They also owned Roy's Ice and the boat dock at the Pound

Reservoir. Joyce also put in countless hours in the early mornings delivering the daily newspapers and was a bus driver for the Wise County School system and Kid Central for many years. Joyce was also a member of the Pound

Rescue Squad and attained her EMT-A credentials. All this while raising her children as well. She enjoyed her flower garden, working Sudoku puzzles, drawing and painting, reading (especially her Bible) and watching the Hallmark Channel. But her greatest joy was the time she spent with her

children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband James Roy Stallard, Sr.; her parents Oliver Winfield and Ida Melinda (Ford) Powers; her brother Francis Gary Powers; her sisters Jean Goff, Joann Meade and Janice Melvin.

Survivors include her daughters Daphney Williams and husband Jeff-Bristol, TN, Jacinda "Jay" Moore and husband Neil-Pound, VA and Jolinda "Jo" Church and husband Larry-Pound, VA; her sons James R.

Stallard, Jr and wife Delois-Hi Hat, KY, Oliver "Woody" Stallard and wife Serena-Pound, VA and Joseph "Reese" Stallard and wife Yin-

Thailand; grandchildren Bobby, Jamie, Cody, Trenton, Scottie, Michael, Tiffany, Ariah, Kimiko, Yinisa, Ananda, Dakota, Johnathon, Garrett, Chyanna, Jesse, Dominic, Anthony and Leann; great-grandchildren Franklin, Noah, Kaylee, Emma, Hunter, Abagail, Elijah, Woodsen, Everly, Dillon, Nicholas, Mason, Maddie, Braxton, Isaac, Penelope, Wyatt,

Brantlee, Colton, Lucas, Cooper, Liam, Declyn and Evelyn; a sister Jessica Hileman-Mechanicsville, MD; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; her church family; special friends Lynette Mullins, Elaine Mullins, Roy Mullins, Betty and Yvonne; and a host of friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday February 27, 2026 at Baker Funeral Home-Pound, VA.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday February 28, 2026 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Brothers Glen Young, E. R. Hall, Rueben Hall and Reverend Randy Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of services.

Burial will follow in the James A Powers Cemetery on Mountain Cove Road-Pound, VA where Dakota Noble, Cody Stallard, Bobby Stallard, Anthony Aslin, Scottie Stallard, Trenton Stallard, Garrett Williams, Mason Stallard, Johnathon Noble, Jesse Aslin, Dominic Aslin and Nick Stallard will serve as pallbearers.
