POUND, VA- Joseph "Joe" Dean Pennington, 69, passed away Saturday December 6, 2025, from Norton Community Hospital-Norton, VA.

Joe was a Christian and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Joe was a retired cross country truck driver, he logged many miles

and enjoyed seeing so much of the country. For some reason he really enjoyed maneuvering that big truck on those tight big city streets. He was an avid guitar player; he loved listening to blues music with Eric Clapton being his favorite. Joe even started making guitars later in his life. He was an animal lover, especially his three cats. Joe also enjoyed muscle cars and going to their shows and watching the old tv shows. But what gave him his greatest joy was

his family, that he loved so dearly.

Joe was preceded in death by his father,

John Henry Pennington and his sister, Regina Leach.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 12 years, Kathi Cantrell Pennington-Pound, VA; his mother Magoline Cantrell-Pound, VA;

his brother Tim Pennington and wife Teresa Rose-Pound, VA; his brother-in-law Michael Leach-Kingsport, TN; nephews Daniel Leach, David Leach, Nick Pennington, Aaron Pennington, and Matthew Mullins; nieces Beth Fleming, Jessica Bolling, Alexis

Pennington, Lauren Pennington and Hannah Pennington; several close friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Wednesday December 10, 2025, in the Baker funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Greg Cyphers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of services.

Graveside services will be conducted at 12 Noon Thursday December 11, 2025, at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens

Mausoleum. Family members and friends are asked to meet at Baker Funeral Home by 11:00 am to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.
