POUND, VA – James Bradley Sergeant, 44, passed from this life into eternity Friday December 6, 2024 from Norton Community

Hospital. His loving family was at his side.

Brad was of the Baptist faith, he loved his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed four wheeling, boating, bowling, playing games on the

computer and watching old westerns on TV. He was an animal lover, especially his dogs Dixie (German Shepherd), Max (Pom -Yorkie)

Jasper (Yorkie) and Jake (Yorkie); and his cat Cricket. Brad's greatest love was his Mother, Diane.

Brad was preceded in death by his father, James Monroe Sergeant and his step-father Robert Edward Messer.

Survivors include his mother, Diane (Hampton) Sergeant Messer; sister, Tamera Cawthon and husband James-northern VA ; brothers, Timothy Hampton and wife Jessica-Bluefield, WV, Tony Messer- northern VA, Andy Messer and wife Mireille-Winston Salem, NC, Adam Messer and wife Kerry-Williamsburg, VA, nephews Isiah and

Joshua; a niece Josi; special friends, Richard Ventro, Jimmy Sexton, Ricky Hampton, Andy Messer, Cecil Collier, Tony VanHuss, Crystal

Sexton and Melissa Sexton and a host of friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday December 10, 2024 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Cyphers and Pastor Travis Price officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until time of services.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery- Pound, VA where Tim Hampton, Ricky Hampton, Kevin Hampton, Josh Gentry, Clyde Stidham, Matthew Sexton, Cecil Collier, Randy Boggs and Tony VanHusss will

serve as pallbearers.
