Obituary

POUND, VA – James Allen "Joe" Mullins was born September 17, 1945

in Pound, VA.  He was sent to his eternal home on October 19, 2024, being 79 years of age.

Joe was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was marked by love and compassion. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Joe was a proud veteran of

the United States Army and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Pound VFW Post 9600.

Joe is survived and missed by his loving wife of 55 years , Judy Ann (Ashbrook) Mullins. Together they had one son James Gregory "Guido" Mullins and daughter Jennifer Lynn Adams. Joe will be forever cherished and remembered by his three grandchildren Makayla Adams, Joe Adams and Grace Adams and one great-grand-

daughter Hadley Atkins. Also surviving are his siblings: Kathy Fleming, Greta Boggs, Carmelia Sykes, Vickie Easterling, George Boggs, Rhonda Damuches and Lygia Unate; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother Naomi (Mullins) Boggs and father Howie "Red" Boggs, and his brothers Monty Boggs and Bernie Boggs.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Ballad Hospice for their kindness and care of Joe and Judy.
