POUND, VA- Gregory Ray Dorton, 56, passed away on Monday July 7, 2025 from Norton Community Hospital-Norton, VA.

Greg was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed being outside, going hunting and fishing, loved watching sporting events and working on cars for himself and other people.

Greg is preceded in death by his father James Ray Dorton; his paternal grandmother Gracie Sturgill; and his maternal

grandparents Richard "Bee" and Goldie

Mullins.

Survivors include his mother, Fayetta Mullins Sturgill- Auburndale, FL; sons, Dustin Dorton- Abingdon, VA and Conner Brown- Egg Harbor Township, NJ; sisters, Marla

Dorton Beaghan ( Kevin)- Elkton, VA and Catherine Holmes (Dennis)- Abbottstown, PA;  niece, Danielle Holmes; nephew, Austin Beaghan; several aunts, uncles, cousins;

special friend Billy Cox and a host of friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday July 13, 2025 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend

Randy Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of services.

Per Greg's wishes he will be cremated after funeral services.
