Genevieve Adkins-Gone Away with a Friend

Genevieve "Jenny" Adkins 84 of Kingsport, Tn went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday May 25th 2026 at 2:15pm at Holston Valley Hospital. She was the eldest daughter of the late Enoch and Rose Marie Belcher. She was the oldest of ten children, Brothers Roger Belcher &  Ricky Belcher and Sisters Pluma Belcher & Debbie Belcher Huber, (Son)David Fox, & wife Tina, and 3rd husband Dane Golden of 21 years proceeded her in death. Also the love of her life for 30 years David Adkins proceeded her in death. Leaving to cherish her memory are her loving Sons Greg Adkins & wife Regina of Wise, Va. Gary Adkins & wife ReVonda of Kingsport, Tn. Daughter Peggy Garris of Surgoinsville, Tn. Six grandchildren Emily Adkins Wheeler & husband Lucas of Kingsport,Tn. Devin Adkins & wife Abigail of Wise, Va. April Shearer of Clarkston, Mi. , Lee Wolfenbarger & wife Katina of Pontiac, Mi., Samantha Fox of Bradon, Fl., Jenny Fox of Mt. Vernon, Ky. Seven Great Grandchildren Gideon Adkins, Toby Adkins & Addy Adkins of Wise,Va. Aubrey Shearer & Jeremiah Shearer of Clarkston,Mi., Tyre & Kevin of Mt. Vernon, Ky.

Brother Ronnie Belcher & wife Sue of Macomb, Mi. Brother Ronald Belcher & wife Barbara of Thompson,Ga. Brother Enoch Belcher of Jacksonville, FL. Brother Richard Belcher & Martin of Phoenix, Az. Sister Marie Belcher of Phoenix, Az. Brother-in-law Will Huber of Locus Grove, Ga. several Nieces and Nephews and host of family and friends.

Jenny was a hard worker all her life and a Jack of all trades. In her younger years she waitressed, drove a school bus and made manifolds at Pontiac General Motors. After moving south to Kentucky were she raised her family nothing slowed her down, She worked in a elementary school managing the cafeteria, farmed big gardens and canned everything she grew, and became head of the ladies auxiliary at Rockhouse Unity FWB where enough money was raised to build the new edition on the church. In her later years she began Co-driving a semi cross county to California and back for about 10 years. Jenny loved to go to the Breaks Interstate Park and camp for the Tri-State Gospel Singing, She loved the White Family they all became very close throughout the years. Joyce. Mary Ethel, Alfie, Judy, Daryl, & Diane. Jenny loved to tell stories and have people laughing, she was very compassionate in all she talked about. Most of all you would Remember her by some storytelling or quick comment about something she was passionate about. Our hearts are broken with sadness but for a short time for soon we will be reunited again.

Funeral Services will be conducted at Baker Funeral Home at 7:00pm Friday May 29th, 2026, with Rev. Darrell Bolling officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of service.     Graveside committal service with Rev. Devin Adkins will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 30th, 2026, at the Rob Ratliff Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Leon Epling, Darrell Adkins, Mark Jackson, Adam Knight, Allen Isom, David Steele, Sean Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Gideon Adkins and Toby Adkins

The Family would like to Express their Heartfelt Gratitude to all who have offered prayers, support and Love throughout this difficult time in the loss of Jenny.
