POUND, VA – Frank H. Dotson, 91, peacefully entered into eternity

Tuesday December 3, 2024, from his residence. He passed away holding

the hand of his loving wife.

Frank was a Christian and a member of Hamilton Chapel Church. He was baptized June 20, 2018. Frank was a retired coal company operator, he had also owned and operated coal trucks and during his retirement worked for PTI where he hauled railroad crews to the jobsite. Frank was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved going to his camper at the lake and riding his golf cart all over the campground. He enjoyed fishing, riding the boat and playing cards, but most of all he enjoyed having his family around. He loved his church family, worshiping with them and having good fellowship.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Noah and Edith (McPherson) Dotson; his Gregory Frank Dotson (who passed away the day before Frank); brothers Alec Dotson and Dexter Dotson; grandson David Barnett; and great-grandsons Andrew Barnett and Austin Dotson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 72 years Eleanor (Stanley) Dotson-Pound, VA; his son Dale Dotson and his lifelong companion

Janie Hamilton-Pound, VA; his daughters Pat Tompkins and husband Vernon-Pound, VA, Ronnie Rose and husband Bobby-Pound, VA and Janet Phillips and lifelong companion Kenny Bowling-Kingston, TN; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; a sister Doris Mullins-Abingdon, VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his church family; and a host of friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday December 6, 2024, in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Greg Cyphers and Elder Stacy Potter officiating.   The family will receive friends from

5:00 PM until time of services.

The Whitesburg VFW Post 5829 will conduct military services at 12:00 Noon Saturday December 7, 2024, at Baker Funeral Home.     Burial will follow in the Crouse Cemetery-Pound, VA where Dale Dotson, Vernon

Tompkins, Dylan Phillips, Dawson Phillips, Chris Phillips, Keith Eglin, Kevin Smith and Greg Pennington will serve as pallbearers.
