Evelyn was a born again Christian and a member of Hamilton Chapel Church since the early 70's. She had a kind and generous soul. Gran was always doing something for a family member or friend, whether it was something as simple as a phone call to check on someone, or cooking a meal when someone was sick, or taking the time to make someone a hand stitched quilt. She had the patience of Job, she was slow to anger and quick to try to help.
Evelyn worked for many years as a clerk at the Federate Shop in Pound, VA. She was always courteous and helpful with her customers. She enjoyed cooking, especially desserts like butterscotch or chocolate pies. Or potato soup or baked beans. Evelyn loved raising a garden and canning what she
raised. She was always ready to help when it was time to make quilts. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was easy to talk to, always willing to listen and always seemed to have good advice. Evelyn loved going to church and spending time in fellowship with her church family. She was a great blessing to her family and friends and will be missed beyond words.
