Psalm 46:5 God is the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God
shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
WISE, VA – Donna Maria Vanover, 57, of Wise met her savior in
Heaven on Friday, December 20, 2024. She was born November 5,
1967, in a blizzard at Park Avenue Hospital in Norton to Foyster Allen
Bolling, Jr. and Gina Sue Strouth Bolling. Winter was her favorite season, and the first snowfall of each year brought her joy. It snowed on the day of her passing.
At the age of 11, she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior. She survived Hodgkins Lymphoma at the age of 15 by the grace and mercy of God. She graduated from Pound High School with the class of 1986. She married the love of her life Jimmy Ralph, Jr. on June 1, 1990 and was blessed with 34.5 years of marriage, and still it was not long enough. She graduated from MECCin 1993 with an Associate of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She worked for Wise County Public Schools as the school nurse at J. J. Kelly High School and Central High School. She survived breast cancer at the age of 49.
Donna was blessed with two surviving children that she loved and of
which she was proud. Her son, a history professor, Dr. Eric Thomas
Vanover and her daughter, a Clinical Social Worker, Sarajayne Faith
Vanover. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Brandi Evelyn
Bailey, and one brother David Allen Bolling and his family. Surviving
also are her father and mother-in-law Jimmy ralph Vanover and Rosie
Vanover who she considered a mother and father as well, her special
Aunt Joe Ann Rose, her sister-at-heart Debbie Vanover, and too many
friends and family and brothers and sisters in Christ to list. God bless
you all for your love and prayers. In lieu of flowers, please consider
making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Monday December 23,
2024 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Hager
officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until time of
services.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday December
24, 2024 at the Clark Cemetery-8180 Boggs Hill Road, Wise, VA 24293
where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at Baker Funeral Home by 10:00 am to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.
