KINGSPORT, TN – Mrs. Delores Ann Adkins, 85, transitioned from her earthly body to her Heavenly one on Friday December 6, 2024 at the Holston Valley Medical Center.

Delores was a devout woman of God and a long-standing faithful member of Vicars Chapel Baptist Church on Stanley Valley Road in Gate City, VA. She loved the services and the fellowship with her church family. Delores was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her children were her life. She cherished the precious time she spent with her family. Delores loved canning and looked forward to

doing it every year. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents Creed and Elizabeth "Lizzie"

(Hopson) Adkins; her daughter-in-law Sheila Adkins; her granddaughter Crystal Adkins; four sisters Mobie, Oakley, Lena Mae and Betty Ruth; six brothers Freeman, Fon, Junior, DeLoil, Loil James and David.

Delores is survived by her sons Darrell Adkins-Kingsport, TN and Dwayne

Adkins-Kingsport, TN; a great-granddaughter Kristen Robinson and husband Justin-Greasy Creek, KY; four great-great-grandchildren Miley, Piper, Amelia and Gunner; 20 nieces, 13 nephews; and a host of extended family that she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Monday December 9, 2024 at the Vicars Chapel Baptist Church-Gate City, VA with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating, Pastor Devin Adkins of Pursue singing  and Greg Adkins reading the obituary. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of services.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday December 9, 2024 at the Rob

Ratliff Cemetery on Elkhorn Creek-Jenkins, KY where Dexter Gay, Leon Epling, Tony Adkins, Doug Adkins, Todd Epling and Jason Epling will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 PM for committal services.
