BIG STONE GAP, VA- Delmar Ray "Pete" Wells, 71, passed away Sunday June 28, 2026 from Johnson City Medical Center- Johnson City, TN.

Delmar, or Pete to most that knew him, was of the Christian faith. He loved to sing karaoke, having cookouts, loved talking about Dinseyworld and just getting out going on adventure drives with friends. Pete loved nature and enjoyed visiting parks. He was a Man of Many Phrases and had about everything he owned branded "Wells Outlaw".

Delmar was born in Winterhaven, FL on February 16, 1955 to the late Ray and Loretta (Collins) Wells.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Silcox; a brother, James "Ernie" Wells and sisters, Nancy Louise Wells and Carol Ann Wells

Survivors include his daughters Charity Hope Wells Utley (Lawrence Whitt)-Pound, VA. and Angela Adkins- KY; grandchildren, Ethan Silcox, Andrew "Allie" Adkins, Sophie Utley, Julianne Utley, Chazz Whitt and Braylynn Whitt; a sister Judy Anderson-Alabama; bonus family, John Paul Mullins, Eddie Johnson, Paul Reynolds, Ginger Reynolds and Chigger Mullins; and a host of friends and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Sunday July 5, 2026 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Carter officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of services.
