Coy Wayne Dotson

CLINTWOOD. VA - Coy Wavne Dotson, 80, entered his eternal reward Sunday October 11, 2026, from Heritage Hall in Clintwood, VA.

Coy was a Christian and loved his Lord and Savior, hearing the word of God and reading his Bible was so important to him. He had a love for muscle cars, enioyed being outdoors when he could and music was a big part of Coy life...playing the guitar and mandolin with friends and family. But mostly, he loved spending time and making memories with his family... especially his grandchildren.

Coy was preceded in death by his parents, Tayler and Lois Mullins; and his son Coy Dewayne Dotson.

Survivors include his daughter, Angie Dorton-Bristol, TN; his sons Jimmy Dotson (Nicole)-Whitesburg, KY and Reece Dotson (Teresa)-Whitesburg, KY; grandchildren, Hannah (Aaron) Bishop, Cara (Kevin) Wingard, Dustin Dotson, Dillon Dotson, Brianna (Zack) Davis and Bayleigh (Bristol) McGee; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Jerald) Tompkins- Pound, VA, Cookie (Scotty) Moore- Pound, VA and Janie (Johnny) Boggs- Pound, VA; a brother, Mark (Robin) Mullins; several nieces, nephews and friends to mourn his passing. As per Coy's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be a private ceremony at a later date.
