Obituary

EOLIA, KY- Brett Shane Bowman, 54, passed from this life Saturday February 15, 2025.

Brett was born October 26, 1970, to Randel Bowman and the late Norma Jean (Sturgill) Bowman in Chicago, IL. He was of the Christian Faith. He was a former coal miner and logger. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking and just exploring in the

woods. Brett was a great carpenter, he cut his own timber, had his own sawmill cut the logs and wood to build his log cabin,

which he was so proud of. He was a mechanic, woodworker, carpenter and a jack of all trades and a wheeler and dealer. He was always looking to make a trade. He was gun rights activist and a member of the NRA. Brett was always there to help anyone he could. He was a loving father, but his proudest accomplishment was being a "Poppaw" His grandkids were his pride and joy, especially Cameron.

Brett was preceded in death by his mother Norma Jean (Sturgill) Bowman; maternal grandparents, Baxter (Jack) and Mary Sturgill;

paternal grandparents, Essie and Ava Bowman.

Survivors include his daughter, Heaven Bowman (Jonathan)- Eolia, KY; a son Dustyn Bowman-Neon, KY and Hunter Rains-Pound, VA; grandchildren, Cameron Mullins, Kamille Mullins, Journey Bowman and Arianna Bowman; Fiancé Chasity Adkins-Eolia, KY; a sister Melina Bowman (Tim Vanover))-Pound, VA; his father Randel Bowman-Norton, VA; Anna Bowman Breeding mother of his children-Neon, KY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; a host of friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Tuesday February 18, 2025, in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of services.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday February 19, 2025, at Mt. Zion Cemetery-Pound, VA where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at Baker Funeral Home by 10:00 am to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation begiven to Baker Funeral Home for funeral expenses.

The staff at Baker Funeral Home-Pound, VA is in charge of arrangements and extend our sincere sympathy to the family of Brett Shane Bowman.
