POUND, VA- Bradley Dewayne Tompkins, 48, passed away Monday
March 3, 2025, from Holston Valley Medical Center-Kingsport, TN. with
his loving family was at his bedside.
Bradley was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed being outdoors, a good
day of fishing, listening to all kinds of music, reading a good book…but
his greatest pleasure was spending time with the ones he loved most.
Bradley had a heart as big as the wide outdoors and would do anything he could for his family and friends. He also had a love for reptiles…especially snakes, of which he owned many.
Bradley was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donnie and Rosalie Tompkins; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Anna Faye Mullins.
His memory is carried on by his wife of 27 years Gracie (Tipton) Tompkins-Pound, VA; a daughter, Emily Tompkins and companion Marx Gore- Mobile, AL.; a son, Thomas Tompkins-Pound, VA; his mother, Colleen Stanley and companion Guy Akers-Pound, VA.; sister, Deneka Mullins and companion Jimmy Kimberlin-Jonesville, VA; brothers, Travis Dutton-Pound, VA, Ashley Stanley and wife India- Pound, VA and Little Ricky Mullins and wife Amber- Pensacola, FL; stepfather, David Stanley-Pound, VA; special uncle, Guy Akers; longtime friend and fishing buddy, Jeff Elkins and lifelong friend, Wesley Stanley: a special niece and nephew, Kyleigh and Cooper Dutton (thank you for always helping take care of his snakes when needed); several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of loved ones.
Celebration of life services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday March 8, 2025, in the Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Anthony Mangrum and Reverend Randy Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of services. Burial will follow in the Arvil Mullins Cemetery- Pound, VA where Thomas Tompkins, Alex Banks, Wesley Stanley, Clayton Tipton, Daniel Sexton, Dante Teague and Ashley Stanley will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Baker Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
The staff of Baker Funeral Home- Pound, VA. are in charge of arrangements and extends our deepest sympathies to the family of Bradley Dewayne Tompkins.
