POUND, VA- Alice Marie Sturgill, 96, peacefully entered eternity Friday December 5, 2025 from her residence with her loving family

at her bedside.

Alice was a Christian of the Old Regular Baptist faith and loved attending church when she was able. She was born on April 12. 1929

in Whitesburg, Ky to the late Elzie and Mary (Webb) Kiser. Alice was an avid reader, she especially loved reading her Bible. She was an excellent seamstress, there wasn't much she couldn't make or fix. But her greatest joy was her family. Especially those grandchildren, that she loved to spoil whenever she got the chance.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Kenneth Sturgill; a son, Larry G. Sturgill; sisters, Nanny Smith, Alpha Adkins, Doris Gibson and Ruby Bell and a brother, Leslie Kiser.

Survivors include her daughters, Lesia Diane Manderson-  Tuscaloosa, AL and Teresa Carol Rose and husband Tim Pennington- Pound, VA; grandchildren, Dwayne Rose, (Nikki)-Tuscaloosa, Al, Stephen Rose (Sabrina)-Tuscaloosa AL, Sara Porter (Stephen)- Mississippi; D.J. Faulkner (Amber)-Tuscaloosa, AL; great grandchildren, Samantha Beams (Colton)-Tuscaloosa, AL, Julie Rose-Tuscaloosa, AL, Carly Rose-Tuscaloosa, AL, Brylan Faulkner-Tuscaloosa, AL and Madisyn Faulkner-Tuscaloosa, AL; great-great grandchildren, Danny Michael Beams and Benjamin Silar Beams; sisters, Judy Miles-Letcher County, KY and Anna Huffington-Madison IN; ½ brother Elsie Kiser-Atlanta, GA; ½ sister Elsie Kiser-Kentucky several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn her passing and cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Monday December 8, 2025, in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Carter

officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of services.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday December 9, 2025, at the Sturgill- Mullins Cemetery on Rumley Branch-Pound, VA.

where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 am to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.
